From Cell to Battery
We assemble CATL cells into packs at our factory in Cape Town, then charge, test and quality-check every unit before it ships. What makes a Solar MD pack different is what’s designed around the cells: the BMS inside every battery, the BMU on every high voltage rack, the Logger V2 and mypower24. Same team, same building, same drawings, so the hardware and the software are built to each other’s limits. The one thing we designed not to be ours is the rest of the plant. Solar MD storage pairs with the inverters and PCS your project needs, and because the same engineering team is still here, we can change a design when a site needs it and support what we built years after it left the factory.
01
Preparation
All materials are prepared and packed out for the assembly line.
02
Battery Assembly
The cells are carefully assembled into battery modules, ensuring proper electrical connections and thermal management. Cells are compressed in the module to extend their working life.
03
Charging & Testing
The assembled battery modules undergo initial charging and testing to verify their performance and identify any potential defects. This step is crucial to ensure the safety and reliability of the final product.
04
QA Checks
Rigorous quality assurance checks are performed at various stages of the production process to ensure that the batteries meet our stringent quality standards. This includes visual inspections, performance tests, and safety checks.
05
Packaging
The finished batteries are carefully packaged to protect them during transportation and storage. We use high-quality packaging materials that are resistant to shocks and vibrations.
06
Delivery
The packaged batteries are then shipped to our customers or distribution centers, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the integrity of the product.
